Alasdair is a partner and head of litigation at our Guernsey office. He has been in practice for 20 years and, in addition to having practised as a barrister in England, Alasdair spent several years practising in the Caribbean before arriving in Guernsey. He is instructed by law firms and institutional clients based worldwide and has acted for most of Guernsey’s leading fiduciaries, fund providers and banks. A regular speaker at conferences worldwide Alasdair has also contributed to a number of publications including TQLR, Arbitration Law Monthly and the International Bar Association’s Anti Money Laundering Forum guide on Guernsey. Alasdair is the author of the Guernsey chapters of Greene on Shareholder Disputes (Jordans 2012) and Dispute Resolution Review (5th ed).
Alasdair has a depth of experience of handling a great variety of contentious and non contentious matters covering most corporate and fiduciary fields including fraud, asset freezing and insolvency and international private client work. He has particular expertise and established track record in conducting complex high value cross-border work and brings significant experience in international ADR.
Alasdair has been acknowledged as a "prominent figure" in the "Leading Lawyers" category in Citywealth Leaders List for successive years and recognised in Who’s Who Legal for asset recovery. The Legal 500 directory say he is "the sort of lawyer you are happy to place before clients".
